Michael Carrick expressed his frustration over Manchester United's lack of sharpness during their 1-1 draw against West Ham on Tuesday.
United, led by Carrick, struggled to perform at their best and fell behind to Tomas Soucek's goal in the 50th minute in east London.
The team needed Benjamin Sesko's last-minute equalizer to avoid their first defeat under Carrick's interim management.
Despite maintaining the fourth position in the Premier League after Sesko's goal, Carrick admitted that the team lacked cohesion in the attacking third.
"We were a bit disappointed with our performance. In moments like this, you need to find a way to push through. I'm frustrated with that," Carrick commented.
"It's a challenging place to play, and we couldn't find the sharpness needed to overcome the obstacles. However, we showed great spirit, secured a point, and now we move forward.
"Considering our current situation and the limited time we've had together, earning a point was crucial.
"It was a hard-fought result, and we managed to find a way. There are definitely positives we can take from this," he added.
Sesko's goal, his fifth in six games, highlighted his significant improvement after a slow start to the season following his transfer from Leipzig.
"Spectacular finish once again. He's proving his worth. It was a crucial goal. I'm thrilled for him. Another important goal for us," praised Carrick.
United's late equalizer kept West Ham in the relegation zone, and Carrick expressed his hope for the club to climb out of the bottom three eventually.
"I genuinely wish for their survival," Carrick said. "West Ham holds a special place in my heart, and I cherish the memories from my time here. Hopefully, they can secure their position in the league."
